          @MicrosoftHelps It is at least as much @Microsoft's fault as it is @Steam's for releasing such a low-quality code base in the first place. Trying to run on stock Windows 10 with no more than Office and browsers installed next to Steam. First tried Microsoft Store, and it wouldn't even install.

        @MicrosoftHelps @Microsoft @Steam 's installer at least got the simulator installed and running in November. 2 weeks later (Windows only booted once in between to install updates), it no longer starts with yet another error loop. Spent much too long trying all the workarounds and cargo cult tricks, but no luck.

      @MicrosoftHelps @Microsoft @Steam The DRM measures and account locks are simply too complex for Microsoft to be able to manage them, it seems, but are given higher priority than a bought software actually, you know, starting...

    @MicrosoftHelps @Microsoft @Steam Yes, I tried again, and forums.flightsimulator.com/t/crash-to-desktop-without-error-only-works-in-offline-mode/451532/24 gave a hint: 1. Delete Xbl_Ticket under Windows Credentials in Credential Manager 2. Log out of Microsoft Store 3. Delete XBox App and XBox Live 4. Reboot Windows 5. Sign in at Microsoft Store 6. Start MSFS with -FastLaunch flag 1/2

      @MicrosoftHelps @Microsoft @Steam (I added this to launch arguments in Steam client) 7. Get a new launch blocker screen "Let's get you signed in", which, surprise!, doesn't do anything when clicking any buttons. 8. Aha! Alt-Enter for windowed mode and now the button is clickable. 9. Sign in, game starts. Why?????
