Pixel 2: The year’s best smartphone computerworld.com/article/3244656/smartphones/pixel-2-the-year-s-best-smartphone.html I've been carrying a Samsung Galaxy S8 as private/university/test phone and a Pixel 2 as enterprise phone for 2 months now and agree that, as a developer/security person, the Pixel 2 is the one to go to.

Not considering detailed hardware differences, the biggest advantages on Pixel 2 are openness (compile and run your own firmware if you want/need to) and hardware security module: android-developers.googleblog.com/2017/11/how-pixel-2s-security-module-delivers.html

(Personally, I'd still like to have a 3.5mm headphone jack for sports and travel. Pity that the trend of removing it started 2 years ago, even though I understand a bit about the complexities of HW design and the reasons - including battery runtime - to remove analog parts.)

However, I very much look forward to moving all my accounts onto a single phone in the near future to again relieve my pockets. Carrying two phones throughout the day is a good exercise in comparing them and keeping private and enterprise life apart, but wow is it inconvenient.
