    @0x2F9E @matthew_d_green That's what still confuses me: it is a current exchange rate based on market speculation, but I don't understand what the intrinsic value is supposed to be. It can be very easily debased through speculation and/or loss of trust, and there is nothing else that can be done with it.

      @0x2F9E @matthew_d_green I guess my puzzlement really comes down to: why do people trust that Bitcoin has any value that's not going to vanish overnight? What is this trust based on, when there is no real-world meaning behind the concept?
