I'd add that for WiFi connections, we have working (i.e. not breaking most setups) MAC randomization right now that is a significant step in the right direction to minimize meta data leakage on lower protocol layers. IMEI/IMSI randomization is still a major challenge. 2/n

For anybody who wants to inspect network connections on (non-rooted) Android phones, e.g. netguard.me/ is a good debugging tool. However, I wouldn't recommend this for average users yet, as it's too easy to unintentionally break expected functionality... 3/3
