I've already decided that I will not buy another car with a combustion engine, but will go fully electric. Within the next 6 months, I'm looking for: - realistic range of 300km - plug-in charging at home with more than 2.5kW - room for a family of 3 with some luggage. Thread...

An obvious candidate is the @Tesla Model 3, but I've pretty much decided against it for various reasons already:
-
1. I am very biased by my profession here, but there are rumors that software quality is (used to be?) questionable: reddit.com/r/EnoughMuskSpam/comments/99sbwa/former_tesla_programmers_anecdotes_about_problems/ If that is true, then the capability to live SSH into cars remotely to delete files after a failed firmware update is just a no-go.
-
2. I haven't tried this on a Model 3 anywhere, but at least the owner's manual (tesla.com/sites/default/files/model_3_owners_manual_north_america_en.pdf) doesn't tell me how to temporarily disable (cell) network connectivity. I want the capability to go offline whenever I need to.
-
3. The company does not seem to treat its employees all too well (businessinsider.com/tesla-workers-fired-pregnant-leave-2019-7). I have spoken to current and former Tesla employees here in the Silicon Valley area, and even the highly skilled engineers don't seem to be very happy there.
-
4. I really don't like price deception and other dark patterns being used against customers: @random_walker/1149855750937862145

If I'm wrong about any of these points, then please tell me! There aren't many fully electric cars in the market right now that fulfill my requirements...
-
Other candidates I currently see: - Opel Corsa-e (int-media.opel.com/en/electric-car-everyone-new-opel-corsa-e-%E2%82%AC29900) - Hyundai Kona Electric - new Nissan Leaf with 62kWh - new Renault Zoe with 52kWh Lazy Twitter: Are there any others that will (soon) be available in Europe?

Wow, thanks a lot for all the response! I didn't expect so many remarks on such short notice. I already learned that even the new Leaf is probably out because of the thermal battery management (thanks @matthew_d_green for pointing that out) and Chademo plug (thanks @hoenic07).
